Commemorative Josh Groban Album

Hello Everyone!  It has been a while since I have blogged, so today is the day to remedy that situation!  Many of you who really know me know that I am a huge Josh Groban fan!  I love his music and beautiful voice and find it relaxing to listen to!  I have been to 5 of his concerts and finally decided that I wanted to create a scrapbook album to commemorate one of his concerts.  Here it is:

Doesn't look like much right now, does it?  I decided to use a ready made Graphic 45 album which made this job much easier!  Here are some of the pages:

I have done very few albums in the past as I am mostly a card maker, so I decided to try some new things for me, including a waterfall page.  I was pretty happy with the way it turned out!  I had the opportunity to see him again with my husband this past August, so my last page pocket is perfect for adding extra tickets., etc.

Now for the final touches.  I went immediately to my stash of Creative Impressions ribbons and ephemera and found just the right ones to finish off the album.

I used Creative Impressions wonderful Music Ribbon, Bakers Twine and Music Notes to finish off the album binding.  It was so easy to wrap around the album!

Today I would like to share with you the latest project I did for Creative Impressions using their Felt Blossoms along with their Embroidery Stitching Template.  Love it.

Stitching on Felt Shapes/Creative Impressions

Happy Tuesday Everyone:

I have an easy tutorial today for Stitched Creative Impressions Blossoms
( Pastel 62201, Bright 62203 and Heritage 62202) as well as the Medium Felt
Blossoms (62101, 62102 one 62103) and Leaves (Olive 62302) that were added
to a store-bought plain pencil case for a little extra pizzazz!

I have quite the stash of embroidery thread as I haven't created
anything with cross-stitch for many years now (paper crafting is my
passion now).  It was time to pull the thread out of storage and create
a new use for the thread.  I decided to try stitching on the Felt Blossoms
to see what kind of outcome I would have!  I love it!

I started out by stitching some designs with different colors onto the
Blossoms when I was watching tv at night.  I found it to be really relaxing,
so I just kept on stitching away!  This is what I ended up with:

I just started playing with layering different size blossoms together.
As you can see, there are many different stitches used.   Of course
there was still one thing missing to complete the flowers - Creative
 Impressions Buttons in different colors!
Now I was happy!

Finally, I laid out various Blossoms on my pencil case and began to
adhere them to the case using basic stitches.  Again here is the final piece.

If you find that you aren't really comfortable with embroidery or you
just need some inspiration concerning what stitches to use and where,
not to worry!  Creative Impressions produces and distributes this wonderful
Stitching Template designed by Kathy Shaw.  You will love this!

You can leave the five full templates included together like this -
just place over the desired piece, place a pencil in the holes indicated,
twist the pencil and voila!, you have your pattern perfectly placed on
your blossom or fabric.

In this case I cut apart the template on the broken lines with
scissors and I store them on a metal ring.

Here are a few more examples of choosing the desired stitch and
placing it on your piece.

I know I will be creating a lot more projects with Felt Shapes and
stitching - with and without the template.  Can't wait to get started
on some more!

Botanical Valentines

Hello Everyone:

Today I would like to show you a number of cards I made, mostly Valentines, but all made from the same 4 sheets of paper and embellished with Creative Impressions embellishments to really make them stand out.

 As you can see, I have created 10 cards from the same 4 papers and I still have paper left over.  I could not have stretched this paper nearly as far had it not been for these wonderful embellishments.

Now let's look at these cards individually to see what lovely embellishments I used on them

The paper is by Prima Marketing and Kaisercraft.   On this card I die cut a heart out of one of the background papers and stamped "Amour" by B Line Designs in the center of the heart using Wendy Vecchi's Thistle Archival Ink.  I placed the heart on a square from another paper and cut out a butterfly from yet another.  Before adhering the butterfly to the heart, I attached a Gold Curved Heart Brad (91004) to the center of the butterfly.  Before adhering this panel to the background piece, I wrapped a piece of White Crepe Ribbon ( 70132 ) around the bottom panel and tied a bow towards the base of the card.  I adhered the square panel to the background over the ribbon.

The next one was super easy.

I cut out the rose spray from one of the Prima papers and adhered it with pop dots to a white card stock panel.  I stamped "Cherish" above it and placed a Gold Curved Heart Brad at the top of the letter "i" as well as a small Gold Fastener to the center of one of the flowers.  I placed another cut out butterfly on the flowers, added a small cut out rose to the top and wrapped a piece of Plum Crepe Ribbon (70123) around the card.

I accidentally photographed the above card twice.  It should be this card:

This card is a collage over a plum piece of card stock.  I used White Web Ribbon ( 70187), a Silver Curved Heart Brad ( 92004) and Silver Leafy Vine  (70226) for this card.

This card could be used as a "thank you" card.  This time I used Pink Web Ribbon (70194) behind a die cut heart and on top of it.  I cut out a rose from the patterned paper and the sentiment, adhered them over the heart and added a Silver Heart Fastener.  Another easy card!

This card features more cut outs over a background piece.  What makes this card so elegant is the Vintage Rose Velvet Sequin Ribbon (70483) wrapped around both ends  of the sentiment piece.

I used small patterned paper panels for this card along with a rose spray cut from the patterned paper and adhered to the bottom of the sentiment panel.  The Plum Crepe Ribbon wrapped around the bottom of the panel and tied into a bow adds elegance to this card.

The center panel of this card is a stamp from B Line Designs.  I added some Metallic Butterflies to this panel along with a few mini Rounds from the Heritage Mini Rounds set (90191).  I wrapped another piece of Plum Crepe Ribbon around the panel and attached the panel over two small pieces of background paper I turned into other panels.  A piece of White Web Ribbon was adhered to the card base first.

Again, another easy card.  This one was created with just two small panels adhered to a white card.  I use cut two roses and also adhered a butterfly to the center.

I turned this card into a "thank you" card by adding a die cut "thanks" above the sentiment.  I added some Gold Heart Fasteners and a butterfly and adhered this to a background panel wrapped with some Pink Crepe Ribbon with a bow tied to it.

This Valentine card  was centered around the sentiment.  I fussy cut several roses from the patterned paper, placed them on a plum card stock panel along with the sentiment and wrapped some Vintage Rose Velvet Sequin Ribbon around the bottom.  This panel is adhered to a background panel and you have a lovely Valentine!

I hope you have enjoyed these cards as much as I enjoyed creating them!  There are a few little pieces of paper left, so I guess I will have to see if I can make a few more!
