Hello Everyone! It has been a while since I have blogged, so today is the day to remedy that situation! Many of you who really know me know that I am a huge Josh Groban fan! I love his music and beautiful voice and find it relaxing to listen to! I have been to 5 of his concerts and finally decided that I wanted to create a scrapbook album to commemorate one of his concerts. Here it is:
Doesn't look like much right now, does it? I decided to use a ready made Graphic 45 album which made this job much easier! Here are some of the pages:
I have done very few albums in the past as I am mostly a card maker, so I decided to try some new things for me, including a waterfall page. I was pretty happy with the way it turned out! I had the opportunity to see him again with my husband this past August, so my last page pocket is perfect for adding extra tickets., etc.
Now for the final touches. I went immediately to my stash of Creative Impressions ribbons and ephemera and found just the right ones to finish off the album.
I used Creative Impressions wonderful Music Ribbon, Bakers Twine and Music Notes to finish off the album binding. It was so easy to wrap around the album!
Hope you like the album and will consider making one of your own!
Happy Crafting!
Susan

Happy Fall Y'All!
Sorry, I couldn't resist using a Texan's term for "You All" for my latest blog entry! I love it!
I have been playing with paper scraps and Creative Impressions embellishments and came up with 4 more cards (check out Creative Impressions Facebook page for other cards) that I would like to share with you today on the first day of Fall:
I really love Creative Impressions Fall Leaf brads (Oak and Maple leaves) and couldn't wait to create some cards with them. I had multiple scraps leftover from Graphic 45's Time to Flourish collection as well as some Paper Studio Autumn paper, so I laid out what I had and hoped inspiration would come! I am pretty happy with the results!
I created some similar cards this past February for a Valentine's theme using Creative Impressions embellishments and decided to use the same format more or less for my Autumn theme. Here are some of the individual cards:
I had some pretty odd shaped scraps, but I think they all ended up working well together. This card was made entirely from the G45 Time to Flourish paper. I wish I had taken a "before" photo, but I'm sure you can imagine what this card looked like before I added the wonderful Maple leaf brads and Dark Brown Baker's Twine. I think it stands out much better after the addition of the brads, don't you?
Here is another card using a combination of G45 and Paper Studio papers, but this time I used the Oak Leaf brads.
Finally, here are two more cards with a Paper Studio autumn paper in the background and small G45 panels in the front:
I stamped an elk image (Art Impressions) onto two G45 panels, adhered them to a brown panel, wrapped CI Light Brown Baker's Twine around two edges and added 3 Oak Leaf brads to finish the card.
For this card I again used two G45 paper panel and added both some Oak Leaf and Maple Leaf brads to each panel. I also added some Creative Impressions Baker's Twine on two sides of the card as well as a leaf from the Fall Leaves Felt Assortment with an Oak leaf over the top.
I hope you will stop and take a look at the papers in your scrap bin and have fun creating some new cards or Mixed Media project. Don't forget to look through your stash of Creative Impressions embellishments to add a cool touch and make those cards "pop"!

Playing with Creative Impressions Cork Paper

Playing with Creative Impressions Cork Paper!
Hello everyone! Have any of you tried using Creative Impressions Cork Paper with your cards or mixed media projects? I decided to do this recently and thought I would share the results with you!
First, I decided to stamp directly onto the cork paper. I wasn't at all sure how the image would turn out, but I was quite happy with the results. I used Ranger black archival ink and B-Line Design's Buffalo Bill Cody stamp.
I was pretty happy with this result, so I decided to experiment with a few other images and incorporate them into cards. The red twill is Creative Impressions 1/2" Red Blank Twill and the hearts are their Antique Copper Country Heart paper fasteners.
I stamped Annie Oakley onto the cork paper. The detail showed up really well! I carefully tore around the edges of the image and adhered to multiple card stock and patterned paper panels. To really make the card stand out, I used Creative Impressions Natural Thin Twine wrapped around the first panel, an Antique Copper Primitive Star brad and a piece of the Happy Trails Twill to finish it up!
Now I decided to try using the cork paper as a card layer. I certainly wasn't disappointed! I stamped the Buffalo Bill Cody stamp I previously stamped directly onto the cork paper on a piece of scrap cream card stock this time and colored the image with Distress inks. The cork paper was carefully torn around the edges and became a layer. Love the look!
To finish the card, I stamped a B Line Designs small Rustic Star onto the cork paper and cut it out with scissors. I punched a hole through the center of the star and adhered a Creative Impressions Large Copper Round, going through the image and red card stock layer as well. To finish, I adhered 3 small Copper Mini Rounds to the red card stock and adhered the panel to the cork layer previously adhered to a blue card stock panel, patterned paper and finally a cream card. Here is a close-up of the star.
Hope you have enjoyed these samples! Head on over to www.creativeimpressions.com to purchase some of this fabulous paper - then have fun creating your own cards and mixed media pieces!
